A stella cast of celebrities are shining a light on the plight of forgotten rubbish scavengers
It is a difficult time for so many people, not only are thousands of children still living on landfill sites in 2016. Even on our own doorstep, we have thousands of refugees, many of whom have fled from war and have been living in The Calais Jungle - a former landfill site- in as subhuman conditions as the dumps we work on. The shoe auction is a way we can balance the world a bit, celebrities who might have more than they need can donate their shoes and use their profile to raise awareness for those less fortunate. The public can buy items which will raise funds for children on our dump projects. Celebrities such as Chris Martin have been donating their shoes and supporting the charity for years. Check out the website for new donations and updates about this year's auction.
Founder and CEO Amy Hanson has said "We are always blown away by the support that celebrities show us, but this year the response has been truly phenomenal. These celebrity donors are really using their status to help create awareness for children in poverty, the most famous A-listers in the world have proven that they are not too big to take a small step to support our small charity."
