Cathy Smith

Cathy is an English teacher with extensive postgraduate specialisms in teaching dyslexic, ADHD, autistic and other neurodivergent children and young people.
She is also neurodivergent herself. A longstanding trade union activist, she has served both as workplace rep and in various official capacities for the National Education Union (NEU), including a stint on the National Executive. She is a lifelong political activist in the climate and social justice movements, most recently addressing a climate rally in Cornwall on behalf of the NEU, and
carrying the trade union block banner at Pro-Palestine demonstrations in London.
She is also a writer, poet and dot-artist. She has been an avid computer gamer since 1980 and has recently developed a fascination with AI, aided by a student she has encountered in her travels. Her research is currently centring on the potential of AI to improve the human condition.
