Cebuan Bliss

Cebuan is a PhD candidate at Radboud University in the Netherlands. Her research looks into animal ethics issues in conservation, particularly where there’s a trade-off between individual animal health, welfare and rights, and species protection.

Topics such as the governance of so-called Invasive Alien Species, rewilding, and trophy hunting are particularly relevant. She has undertaken field work in the Netherlands, the UK, Kenya and South Africa. She grew up in the British countryside, where she fostered a deep respect and connection with nature.

In a former life, she worked in London in investor relations for financial institutions. She went on to study for a Masters in Global Environmental Governance in Amsterdam, during which time she also worked for a psychedelic therapy centre.
