Mario Reinaldo Machado is a postdoctoral researcher in the Gund Institute for Environment at the University of Vermont where he studies agroecology and regenerative agriculture.

He is also a writer of fiction and non-fiction with work that has appeared in National Geographic, Guernica, Orion Magazine and others.

Mario is currently in the process of starting a small farm in Franklin, New Hampshire, and is seeking representation for his first book, The Maw, a near-future sci-fi novel that explores the contours of a climate ravaged planet.
