So, here before us, a New Year beckons... shiny and new. What is important to us? What guides our priorities for the year ahead?
We are now living in what has been called an "attention economy." Large media companies are competing for our hours spent on their channels.
Many of us will have been bingeing this Festive Season on all manner of dubious content - from cheesy movies to doom scrolling social media on the sofa after eating too much - we have all been there...
Here is an important Betwixmas challenge for us all - divert attention away from - Strictly Come Dancing, Die Hard, Instagram (delete as appropriate) and watch this carefully edited half hour of The National Emergency Briefing instead -
SUPPORTED BY HEROES LIKE YOU
Support independent eco journalism that drives real change.Despite its seismic importance, the National Emergency Briefing has had basically no coverage.
I suspect, however, that the 1,200 Parliamentarians, business leaders and press who actually went to the briefing will be facing the New Year with adjusted priorities.
For many of Ecohustler’s regular readers the main story here will not be a surprise but the updates from the really top people who know their stuff, not just on the climate, but on how these changes will impact the economy, food security, military options etc etc - make this essential viewing.
So, brace yourselves, make a nice cup of tea... and watch this -
