Bella Smith

Bella has a BA in history from the University of Bristol. They are an activist, writer, and anti-capitalist climate organiser from Kernow. She has previously mobilised with student and grassroots community groups across Bristol, Kernow, and London, to rally against Tory policies, systemic oppression, climate-destroying companies, and fascist assemblies. She also writes and publishes poetry on radical eco-themes, autism & neurodivergence, capitalism, and grassroots resistance. Currently, she is an organiser with Fossil Free London, and a member of the Gobjaw Poetry Collective. At university, her dissertation focused on how the public remembers episodes of mass social unrest & resistance, and the role of the police, media, state, and grassroots actors in negotiating this collective memory. Her research is currently focused on radical social movements and undertaking direct action to shut down the fossil fuel industry.
